ASACP Launches Spanish Language Website

Los Angeles, CA (February 16, 2010) – The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is pleased to announce the launch of a Spanish version of its website as a part of its International Expansion Project: http://www.asacp.es.

Spanish is the third most widely spoken language in the world, after English and Mandarin Chinese, and the first language that ASACP has translated the ASACP site into.

In preparation for the launch of the Spanish language site, Mary Gillis of M. K. Gillis Consulting volunteered her time to help rewrite the English version of the ASACP website. In addition SureFlix is currently reviewing the translated website for accuracy.

“We needed to streamline the content on ASACP.org in order to facilitate the translation process, Mary Gillis generously volunteered a great deal of her time to make this possible and we are extremely grateful,” stated ASACP CEO Joan Irvine. “In addition we needed to make sure the translation was accurate, and appreciate SureFlix volunteering their time to review the Spanish site.”

Plans to expand internationally have included ASACP hosting European Expansion Focus Group meetings at tradeshows, Sureflix in Canada hosting an event in order to introduce ASACP to key decision makers from Canadian companies in the industry, and last September Irvine travelled to Europe to attend Webmasters Access Europe in Amsterdam and meet with the European Commission in Luxemburg.

ASACP’s initial plans for international expansion are to start translating its websites while working on increasing its international presence, contacting the parental control companies in the EU, and learning the laws of various countries. This will be a long-term project and the speed of this project is dependent upon companies in Europe financially supporting ASACP and volunteering their expertise as the US companies have done for the last seven years. Current international sponsors include AWE, LiveSex, and EuroRevenue.

The launch of the ASACP Spanish language websites coincides with Irvine’s trip to the 2010 Barcelona Summit.

Founded in 1996, ASACP is a non-profit organization dedicated to online child protection. ASACP battles child pornography through its CP Reporting Hotline and helps parents prevent children from viewing age-restricted material online with its Restricted To Adults – RTA Website Label. ASACP is the only association in the world that coordinates the adult entertainment industry’s efforts to protect children online. It has spent over 13 years creating progressive programs to protect children. ASACP’s relationship in assisting the adult industry’s child protection efforts is unparalleled.
